Top 5 Animated Movie Songs

I don't really like musicals. Westside Story and Saturday Night Fever etc. isn't for me. There are only few musical movies I have really liked and would consider putting anywhere near my Top 50 movies of all time viz. Little Shop of Horrors and more recently, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. There are 2 movies, however, that are definitely in there, and if you think about them, they are just as musical (if not more). They are Aladdin and The Lion King, because they are animated, I guess we don't consider them as musicals. So when MJ did his list of sideline Disney characters, I said that's a crap idea, rather do a list of favorite Disney songs. He said F**k you, do that yourself. So that's what I am doing.

5. Hercules: Go the Distance - Michael Bolton

4. Toy Story: You've got a friend in me - Randy Newman

3. Lion King: Can you feel the love tonight - Elton John

2. Jungle Book: Bare Necessities - Who knows (they probably dead now)

1. Aladdin: Whole new world - Peabo Bryson and some other lady (I liked movie version better)

Till next time in Waseem world.

Tim Burton's "A nightmare before Christmas" is an animated classic. The songs are great too, with great sing-around-the-campfire lyrics like:
"Kidnap the SandyClaws, put him in a box, bury him for 90 days, then see if he talks"

you can't go wrong.

MJ - also your pic isnt showing up

zk - I want to watch that movie too. At least you remember a good song, not that dumb under the sea.

takilla- thats not an original song from the movie, but I think thats the best from non-original(I cant think of the right word at the moment) songs.

Nooj - I didnt forget, I dont like that song or that movie :P

Parasputin -I cant really remember that movie, I watched Corpse Bride recently though.

Anon formerly known as R - I wanted to watch it, but forces beyond my control have so far hampered my attempts to watch it. Im afraid this will become a movie I watch on DVD.

Zahera - Musicals are only good if the songs appeal to me and then the songs are integrated into the story well. Thats problem with Indian movies, poor pointless song integration and crap stories.

i dont think saturday night fever falls into the traditional "musicals" genre, it just had great chart-topping songs in it...i love em musicals, westside story is one of the best. i also love my fair lady and the sound of music...:D

as for songs, you missed out whitney and mariahs's when you believe! how can you! and what about phil collin's you'll be in my heart? and vanessa l williams' colours of the wind? and christina aguilera's reflection? robbie's beyond the sea was also used for finding nemo...hehehe, i sang a whole new world for arbour day two years in a row...can you imagine, a 10-girl choir singing a whole new world at an Islamic school.

Joe- I know you do ... I think the fact has music in it, its a musical.

I really liked when you believe but cos Mariah Carey sang touch my body, she has tainted everything else she has ever done.
Phil Collins song, I would put in my top 10.
Vanessa Williams song, just like little mermaid I couldnt stand movie or song.
I don't know the other 2.

I been singing go the distance to myself since I did the post. I should download that song.

i don't think you should, listening to anything by michael bolton makes you sing like him...and i should know! i can't think of michael bolton without laughing, it reminds me of office space...and you know beyond the sea...don't make me sing it! i sing like michael bolton...
